An express body (transverse seats ie - crossways) open cab 1941 weapons carrier without winch would be:

T-207 WC-3 W-398-QM-8286
W-27190 - W-29999 8644701 to 8666216
W-210000 - W-214671 ditto
W-215536 - W-215861 ditto

T-215 WC-21 W-398-QM-DA28
NO REGISTRATION # 81500001 to (not shown)

The T-207 & T-215 are the Engineering Symbols.

The WC is the Model Code.

The W-398-QM... is the US Gov't Contract Number

The W-XXXXXX is the US Registration Numbers (the numbers on the hood).

The serial numbers are shown in a range, and are not exactly accurate because many other models shared the same range. But it does help pin down a likely group of numbers.

I'd guess your truck is in the latter group, and is probably a WC-21, one of a block of 500 made with transverse seats. Another block of WC-21's were made, 6900 of them, but they did not have transverse seats. This group did not have a contract number. It would be interesting to see if indeed there is a W- number pianted on the hood (and assumming it is original). W/O a US Registration number, could it have been a vehicle intended for Lend Lease? If so, it either never made it and was appropriated by the Army, or maybe, just maybe, there are foreign markings under the paint (doubtful). Email me if you do find a W- number on the hood and I'll check and see if it is from another group (showing the hood had been swapped). You truck correctly should not have a W- number on the hood.
