Steve: I converted my WDX to 12 v. using a Chevy alternator I bought at NAPA. 6v starter works fine. Had to make a different bracket to hold alternator. If I were doing it again I think I would go with the Vintage Power Wagon kit. Found out later coil was bad (original) and was replaced. Good idea to replace it anyway whether you need to or not. If you use a 6v coil you will need resister.
