You can get an approximate gear ratio by putting the transmission in nuetral. Put a chalk mark on the outside edge of the rear tire and a chalk mark on the propeller shaft. Roll the truck forward so the rear tire makes one complete revolution. At the same time have somebody count the revolutions of the propeller shaft. If the shaft goes around say alittle more than 4 revs then you might have 4.10 gears. 3 1/2 turns and you have 3.50 gears. Get the idea?
