There is a resistor built in to the back of the temp gage which reduces voltage to the gages from 12 to about 6 volts. The 6 volt power is then distributed to the other gages. You'll either need to get an NOS temp gage, or see if an instrument repair place can fix it or try to solder in an appropriate resistor. I had one fry and luckily all it did was take out the temp gage.
