I had a similar experience with a Ford dealer here in Vermont. I had a Ranger which had been in the shop a ton of times, never quite qualified for the lemon law, but was close. About 50 miles shy of the warrantee end, I took it in and said "just check it over, its the last time you will ever see this truck. When I picked it up, they had done about $1,500 worth of work, which I was not even aware was bad! I know they get reimbursed by Ford, but they could have just as easily told me they didnt find anything wrong. One happy customer will tell about 10 people, an unhappy one will tell about 100.
