When there are "complaint section" posts in the TDR they tend to bring out things that most people would never mention until they get into the "feeding frenzy" mindset of "me tooism". I believe that the same thing happens to the 'Consumer Reports' sections that you reference. I don't have any demographics to back it up, it is just a gut feeling that it is a place for complainers to hang out. You can see the same thing at e-Bay in the feedback section, one positive feedback begats another as does a negative feedback. Just human nature I suppose. This is the bottom line in my opinion, when a person has brand loyalty, or has been bragging about how little they paid for their rice burner, they are less prone to complain. If you paid $40,000 for a Cadillac and the steering wheel fell off you'd complain, if you paid $9,000 for a Yugo and the steering wheel fell off, and you've been bragging about how cheap the car was, you'd more than likely not tell anyone why you have duck tape all over the steering column. = )
