your comments are right on the mark. when i go to purchase a $30,000 truck i want to hear everyones comment! my brother in law hauls toy box trailers from their arizona plant to l.a.--he has a 2000 ford f350 with the 7.3. it has 520,000 miles on it! he had to replace the water pump about 3 months ago. thats the only problem he has had. also at the doctors office today i picked up the new motor trend magazine. it listed the top 10 cars/trucks sold in u.s..dodge ram truck was number 3 behind #1 ford and #2 chevy trucks. the dodge had a 243% increase in sales since 1993. bottom line on whats best out there in transportation is how lucky you are and if all the stars are lined up just perfect. my example of this is as follows: bought a volvo 240 new in 1979. put 270,000 miles on it and it never gave me any grief. traded it in on new bmw 528e in 1985--that car was a nightmare from day one. just little things that would drive you crazy. it was traded in on a toyota truck with a v6--it blew a head gasket at 65,000 miles. toyota picked up the repair bill to their credit. the toyota was traded in on a used ford truck with a 7.3 diesel. just a great truck all around (except mpg). traded it in on chevy suburban and its a great truck at 165,000 miles. $34 dollar p/s pump went out at 152,000. moparnorm i think had problems with his powerstroke but my experence was positive. i like all the information i get off this site--information is education.
