Don't get me wrong Norm, I certainly don't have Cummins change my oil, I do it myself but I guess they all vary their prices because $215 Canadian is the price they quoted me over the phone, as rediculous as that sounds.
See the problem with this discussion is that as I said, most guys here work their trucks.
Look at you Norm, you just said your tool boxes weigh 3000lbs. You guys are exceptions to the rule.
A guy that uses his truck to pick up a couple of cords of wood every winter, tow a Power wagon a few hundred miles to Iowa, put a boat in the water every Summer & the rest of the miles are to & from work & to Starbucks for coffee...to tell that guy he can run a Cummins cheaper than a 360 is just incorrect information.
Diesel trucks are the most economical way to get big power but if you don't use big power at least 50% of the time, it's cheaper to buy a gas engine truck & that's why the big 3 sell 10 gas engine trucks for every Diesel they sell.
If it cost less to own a Diesel in the long haul, the lease companies would never lease another gas truck & no business properly run would ever own anything but diesel pick-ups.
