Where in the world are you paying $100 for an oil change???? Even in SoCal, at the dealer, it is only $64.00. My tire wear is a heck of a lot better than the ferd with the twin I scheme axle. The rears are showing no wear at all, except for the inner rears, which have been rotated from the front. (it is always a goal of mine to double the suggested corner speed on yellow signs!)The fuel savings more than offset the other costs, AND you get all of that power to boot!
As for that smelly, noisy reference in the post below, that is ancient history, the new generation Cummins, International and Izusu's are very quiet and clean running. Especially in CA where the fuel is more highly detergent and nearly sulfur free. I haven't heard of the insurance angle before, my policy didn't change???
