on the last forum I suggested (to a post by
a new young (15year old) San Mateo owner of a 1948 PW) that he get some "how things work" books
a search for william crouse will show 2 of his text books listed (automotive mechanics and automotive electrical) mr crouse's books
are college course text books for industial arts (auto shop teachers) and explain in detail how all systems work (I still have all my Crouse text books from 40 years ago and still refer to them when i am not sure (cannot remember) about something on my 48 (explains in detail the fluid coupler that was used on the 50's dodges (which is on the hemi that i have for sale)
the older editions 1950 - 1960 explain the
systems and technology that applies to the wdx-wm300 series
an ebay search for automotive mechanics will also show some early books by other authors
that might help
these books plus the factory shop and parts
manuals are really a must have before thinking about a DIY project on early iron
as a post script
these trucks are using 60+ year old technology most of which was never learned by
technicians working today unless they are nearing retirement age so finding a shop to get work done (if needed) is not an easy task
and one really needs to know what they are talking about when looking for a place
in the computer world we have one saying
RTFM has to do with reading the manual
