I have a new one in the crate. They were built in China under Braden license. My best information is that the license was granted at the end of World War II. One of our biggest technology drains before Clinton was what took place in our license deals in an effort to help war torn nations rebuild. I do not know the current status of that license.

I doubt that there is a big market for a MU-2 style winch. As is the case with anything the Chinese have gotten hold of, they will manufacture the product for ever based on demand, license or not.

The Chinese didn't change things that worked. I remember a mechanic (former?) at VPW telling me they used some Rhino parts for rebuilding MU2 winches because of their interchangeability and generally good quality. Maybe VPW has some Rhino inforamtion.

The only reference to Rhino Winch I found on one internet search was a Land Cruiser site where another guy had a Rhino and could find nothing about it on the internet.
