Well, 'if' I was going to pull with a half ton and load equalizing hitch, I would sure want load range E tires on the truck. The Load equalizing hitch will put much more weight on the rear of the truck. But, hold on a minute. Before you make a decision, dont just base it on what GM says it can pull, you need more information to make a decision. You need to know what the GM Spec is for the Gross Combination Vehicle Weight. Thats the total weight of everything on tires, your truck, trailer, PW, clothes, soda, passangers, everything. See if your total GCVW is at, over or below what GM rates your truck. If your over the GCVW of your truck, you have a problem both in safety, if the Troopers stopped you or if you had a tragic accident.
