To see just how bad Lucas can get you have to look no further than the Jaguar Series 3 XJ6. The spade terminals on the back of the fuse block are spaced about 1/8 inch from each other and are a continuous source of shorts.

If that was the only problem with the electricals on that car you would consider yourself lucky, but however that is just the begining. The crimping was done with insufficent force and there is little to no soldering and what is there is cold soldered and useless anyway.

Not saying that everthing that Lucas done was bad but every car that I owned that had them (and I have owned several) was an unmitigated disaster as far as the electrical systems were concerned. Never ouned a Triumph though. Perhaps they had better in-house quality control.

I've always liked British (Morgan, Jaguar, A/C,....) coachwork though.
