Just kidding, but it got you to open this post didnt it? :))
A couple of months ago I bought on ebay a really nice black bakelite Sun Tach for the Power Wagon. It came with an 8 cyl. transmitter which I resold on ebay. I finally found a 12 volt 6 cyl transmitter which I bought. Upon opening it up, I was struck by two things. first, there was only one setup for a battery, and second, the battery was still installed, and very crusty. I removed the battery and was relieved to see the battery contacts were not deteriorated. I am sure the 8 cyl. unit I sold had 2 batterys. do the 6 cyl. units only get 1 battery? the case has an indent where the second battery would sit, but no contacts or clipped wiring. my thought was to clean the contacts as best I could and then dab on a baking soda paste to neutralise the acid from the battery. Any other suggestions? I know there are shops who convert these to 12 volt and eliminate the battery, but unless this turns out not to work, I am happy enough to put in a battery.
Thanks for any input, Tim
