go ahead and have him re-core it with a 5 row radiator, the original is 3 row. The problem was not so much all the crap in the core, it was when he removed the top tank to rod it out...the seams are something particular to military design, they are rolled over and soldered, thus when desoldering and trying to 'un roll' the seams, the header plate basically cracked to pieces thus making it impossible to re-attech the tank with no future leaks! It's going to cost me a $400.00 bill but I think it should be well worth it! Aparently, the truck never had any anti-freeze or rust preventative untill I bought it! Thus the large amounts of scale and rust plus the feeble craks in the block..
Especially since the truck only had 3691 miles on it!! I am sure I am the culprit behind the loose scale and stuff because I did a power flush on the system before I first installed the antifreeze and first ran the truck..it has been getting hotter since...oh well!! It's still a GREAT TRUCK!!
and Molly will definitely never let me sell it anyway!!!!
