Based on good advice I received here and on the PWA Forum, I took the fatigued front springs from my Civ 52 PW and my driveshafts to a truck spring shop.
They re-arched my springs and added one leaf to each pack to help maintain the new arch, and then balanced my drivshafts and installed the new u joints I supplied with them. All this for a total of about $150.
I had them work up the springs with 5 1/2" of arch since I now have an MU-2 winch to go up front. (I had heard 5 1/4" was stock). I am glad I had this done while the truck is apart. These truck places are really set up for this kind of work
