I have played with quite a few. I can get em all the time at auctions. The axles with brakes go for $5. each, the ones with no brakes go for $2. just to make a sale. I have never had bad luck with em... They do leave alot to be desired tho. Remember, they were built for temporary use, so keep that in mind. I dont like how the wheel bolts to the drum, as I have heard tell of how you will apply the brakes, and the wheel will come loose in those 'clamps' that hold it to the brake drum and actually still be rotating when the brakes are locked. It has not happend to me yet. I would prefer to convert it to 6 or 8 lug bolt pattern. If you go 8 lug on those, you can use the same spare tires for the truck as well. Also something else to keep in mind, the 14.5 inch mobile home tires are not too good, and if the DOT pulls you over, and see's the tires have "for mobile home use only" on the side, you will get a big fine, or impounding! I dunno if thats how it is in your state, but they are quite strict on it in Michigan here. YOu can buy 14.5 Low boy tires. I believe they are 12 or 14 ply, but they cost some big bucks! Keep the hubs and bearings well lubed as well.
