I been talking quite a bit to the guy who has the '91 Dodge Cummins Truck I mentioned the other day for sale. He told me the history behind it. He is the 2nd owner, has had it for two years. The first owner was a lineman and used it to drive from job to job with, and only carried a few tools in it. The guy who has it now, has never really worked it, except to haul a few boards or things for house projects. It has never been worked hard. The oil has been changed at 3000 right on the dot and done at a Dodge Dealer. All Major work has been done at a Dodge dealer. THe truck has around 300K miles on it. The engine has new bearings, oil pump and new head. He replaced the bearings and oil pump because of the miles and wanted to do it to prevent something bad from happening. Pretty much everything on the truck has had a good going-over except the trans. The trans, is infact a 727 and has been serviced once a year since new. Everything but the AC works (needs recharge) and Cruise dont work. No biggie there Seeing it is a 727 and I know a few guys who rebuild transmissions, if something does happen to the trans, It wont cost me an arm and a leg..I can get a rebuild done reasonable. Oh, and the truck has a new turbo. I plan to go take it for a test run Saturday. Is there anything in particular I should check or be wary of on this truck? Oh yea! it is a '91 W-250 Cummins Diesel, 727 205 case, Both axles are Dana 60s. The guy has been very up front with me on everything on it and is a very motivated seller. He is asking $4000 for it. I hope if I get it, I can get him to throw in one of his prize stock Walker Coonhound pups in with the truck! Thanks guys!
