You will get different views on where to tie down. If on the frame, you need to pull down enough to compress the springs somewhat to minimize the bouncing problem...this takes muscle and heavy chain binders. I have always gone crosswise on the axles. This prevents side to side movement as well as front to back. Then I have a couple more hooked up just to prevent forward movement....I never wanted that thing coming through my back window.

If you have an M-37, they have real hand tie down hooks.

I also think it is important to use a load-equilizing hitch....this makes your load much more stable. You need a good strong trailer with 4 wheel brakes.

As for speed, I agree with the recommendation to keep it slow. No matter how good your rig, it is no where near as good as the truck without the trailer.
