Ha, fooled ya, not mine.

Found this ad in a two month old paper. I called the guy and it is still for sale. From what I gather from talking to the guy, here are the facts as I understand from the owner.

1962 W-100 Townie
Poly 318 Engine with 300 cfm Holly
asking price is $5000 - sounds negociable
He claims this was a Arizona Truck but he says it has some rust in the usual places. He said some body work is needed on the drivers door plus some dents in other places. New headliner.

Now here is the grabber. The Truck is located on Catalina Island.
For Those of you that are not familiar with Catalina, it is 20 something miles off the coast of San Pedro in Southern California. It is very, very hard to get a permit to bring a car to the island and the permit wait time is around 7 years as I remember hearing. Because of the size of the only town, Avalon, is only 1 square mile, almost all of the vehicles one the island are electric golf carts. There are even electric golf carts with hooks that serve as tow trucks. Only people showing a real need to have a gas vehicle can apply for a permit.
It used to cost about $1000 dollars to get a vehicle off of the island, but according to the owner, Catalina will pay for the transport just to get this one off the island.
Jeff, the owner, lives on a boat and does not have internet or email access. No pictures are available and he is of the opinion that if someone comes out to the island to check out the truck and does not like it, they can at least have a fun day on the island. If you call him, there might be a lot of background noise depending on what the weather is like on the boat. He is quite a character.

I would imagine with all of the strange circumstances with this sale that the seller might be motivated to adjust his price.

Outside what I have stated above, I do not have any further knowledge of this. If anyone was really, really, really serious about this, I could go to Catalina to check it out.

Best Wishes
Lonnie
