I test drove Bear last night. So far so good.

Thanks for the help. I dont know how Vaughn was able to fix this up in the middle of a stream bed.

Things that surprised me.
1. The dana 44 small knuckle seems a bit light to me. Is it possible to easily replace this with a 60 or 70 Front axle assembly? I need some beef up there for confidence.

2. 3/8 inch 24 thread grade 8 bolts are easy to find in the city, but I am going to carry 6 in my toolbox along with a helicoil tool and 25/64 drill bit and snap ring pliers.

3. You can actually do this repair with just a socket set, drill, hammer, snap ring pliers, and helicoil kit if nothing else is damages. A 2 1/2 inch sheet metal socket is nice to have, but not needed in a pinch.

4. It took a lot more time than I thought it would. I spent 12 hours including parts runs. If I had to do it again, it would probably take about 6 hours.

5. The rubber break line was all but impossible to break free. I ordered a new one but it will not be in for a day or two.

My back is still recovering and I am going to take it easy today.

Best Wishes
Lonnie
