I took the lightning rods off of my house, but it may not do any good.

flatfender has emerged as a term fondly used by some to describe the 1946-1948 1-ton Power Wagon. The major problem in the use of it is that it is confusing. It does not distinguish between the 1-ton Power Wagon, the M-series Dodges with similar front sheetmetal, or the WC series 1/2 or 3/4 ton Dodges from WWII. Also, the fenders are not really flat.

A lot of people either not involved in the hobby, or new to the hobby, call any or all of those trucks Power Wagons. Consequently, flatfender does not identify the truck.

The first truck sold under the commercial model name Power Wagon was the model introduced in 1946, the WDX. My preference is to call that truck a Power Wagon, or a 1-ton Power Wagon. The trucks that followed that model series, the Power Giants, the W-series trucks, for example, can be distinguished by calling them by those additional designators.
