All good questions. I'd like to think the GCWR of 23000 shouldnt warrant that much more power. Isnt the CDL cut off at 25000lbs? I'd like to think the pick up trucks arent going to continue to get so big they need a CDL to drive. More power would mean stronger drive train parts and that would most certainly add wieght to the truck which would loweer the the weight it can haul. Maybe we are reaching the top end on pick up trucks?!?! With the prices the way they are if one really needs all this power and pulling ability then it would be time to get an entry level medium truck from IH or Frieghtliner I would think.
