I did discover one thing about the stupid questions the other day when I went in for a headlight for my 97, I was at a Napa, and they had to enter most of the idiotic info just to get a headlight bulb number.
I told him (and he agreed) that all 97 rams (most likely all 94-02 rams) used the same headlight bulb, but he still had to enter the info in the computer, and he figured he might as well give the right info in case there was something weird.
Now I know it is a 9004, and I can save myself the hassle.
I, like David, have given up trying to explain that all 97 Dodges with the Cummins use the same oil filter, and it does not matter if it is 2wd, 4wd, 3/4 ton, 1 ton, or has PS, PB, etc.
I guess this is the price we pay for a "modern" world!
I have given up trying to buy anything but wiper blades, oil, and headlight bulbs at any place other then Napa, or Car Quest(they are pretty good), it is just not worth my time to try and explain that all I want is a set of 70s point ignition wires for a LA 318, no I don't care what the application is.
