Up until 3 years ago, Pep Boys had the "older auto parts" books on their counters, just as NAPA did. Some Einstein in accounting had the brain storm to discard those books, too bad he also didn't remember that the computers only go back to 1972......now they can't access parts that really do exist, but no longer sell, because they are not listed in the system.
The books are gone and so is my business. Luckily the old NAPA store in town kept their books so they can access the parts that they really do have in the warehouse, but never sell, ...because the parts are no longer in the "computer system". Eventually the bean counter will "discover" that these parts are not moving, so they will no longer be stocked.... It's crazy enough to make you laugh, if it wasn't so frustrating...
