My garage is 24' x 24' with an 8' door. I use a 22,300 btu kerosene heater which works much like a kerosene lamp (no fan motor) but just a chimney which the heat comes out of. It is quiet and works well. Smells some when I first light it and when it is turned off, so I vent the garage after about the first 10 minutes of operation, and then each hour or so thereafter. When it is cold out (10 degrees f and below) I let it run for a couple of hours before I go out to work.
