Snipe software does not guarantee a win. It just guarantees that your bid will get in very close to the end. The "win" is complicated by (a) other people who also have sniping software, but mostly (b) the bid amount. If your bid is not the largest number, then it doesn't matter whether you get in just under the wire or not. You'll lose.

As an example, if an auction is sitting at $10.00 and I am the high bidder, my bid might have been $100.00. If you come in at the last second and snipe with a bid of $50.00, you will not win, but you might make me pay $50.00 for it instead of $10.00. But the same thing would happen if you didn't use sniper software.

So it doesn't really do much for you other than make sure your bid gets in the last few seconds of an auction.
