Be glad your generator/alternator is working. I had a similar situation in my plow truck. Although the gauge indicated charge, the headlights dimmed when the pump motor was operating. I installed two identical batterie, pos. to pos., neg. to neg. This helped the situation a lot. I still find it's good to hook up the charger after a lot of plowing. It takes a long time for the vehicle charging to make up for the load of the plow motor in constant use.
