I used a high density black foam material called "Armaflex", which is utilized primarily in industrial applications - chillers. It is available in varying thicknesses (I used 1" thick) and is sold in 36"x48" sheets.
The reduction in cab temperature was incredible during the Arizona summer, and sound insulation was remarkable. You use a type of rubber cement to adhere it to your roof. I think I used four or five sheets to do my cab at around a buck per square foot. Pricey, but worth it. (not mine)
