My mech. pump died right before the Green Mt. Rally and I rigged a "temporary electric pump. I still havent fixed the mechanical unit. Originally I thought to have both, using the electric as a switched back up. I was told that if the diaphram fails and you are pumping thru the mechanical pump with the electric pump, you will fill your crankcase with gas. As this seems like an undesirable situation, I think I will stay with one or the other, not both.
