My Dodge is a class 5 truck, 19,600 GCVW. It weights 8,100 empty, that's a payload of 11,500 lbs or 5.5 tons. I never see 2500 rpm except storming up a grade or racing ferds! ha!ha!
I need my power off of idle, both for the loads and towing, also if I was driving it off-road I wouldn't want to have to rev it so high that I was tearing it up on rocks and ruts, it works just fine at low speed. Youngsters used to hi-reving rice burners might not know any better but that high rpm is a waste! It wastes fuel, engine life and the power developed at that rpm is not useable for anything but drag racing. A WDX-WM POWER WAGON works at low rpm and does just fine,...doesn't it?
