Door Latch Assembly

Been working for the last hour trying to install the door latch link assembly in the drivers side door of my '56 C3-PW Power-Wagon (it had none when I first got the truck).
Is it possible to install this assembly without removing the inside window mechanism?
I was able to get the triangular piece (remote control?) in place by loosening the screws holding the window frame.
Any tips? (I am remaining calm, cool, and collected)
