First - go to your local Dodge Dealer (one that has been in business for a while) parts
department - take some donuts
have them check the old books (all parts departments have/keep ALL there old parts books) see if a larger alternator was offered from the factory for your application - probably so for emergency vehicles - then have them use their parts locator system
to see if there are any available anywhere
if so then do not have donut in mouth when you
are given the price - just buy it.
if they are unable to locate one of the big ones then at least get the part number and
find (as all other answers to your question have suggested) a shop that specializes in rebuilding alternators, cranking motors, etc.
and see if they can build you one
