Well...HAPPY NEW YEAR to all! I thought it would be good to update you on my situation..
The Forest Service issue is alive and well...
It has been over 90 days since I was cited...I have not received a summons or notice of a hearing date!! But I have received a letter (by general mail) from the Department of Justice telling me that a federal warrant for my arrest will be issued if I do not pay the $150.00 fine or contact the Federal Magistrate to set up a court date! I always thought it was up to the Court to establish a date for appearance and duly serve summons to the accused for that court date??? Am I wrong?? Can the US Marshalls arrest me because I have not appeared in court? I have plead 'not guilty' on the citation and have returned it in the allotted amount of time...what's the deal?? I guess citizens in the USA are not 'innocent until proven guilty' anymore...the government treats us as guilty until proven innocent!!!
I do want my day in court and await their summons....My Attorney has spent some time on this too!! Anyway, please keep the donations coming...I may need some nail money! Thanks to all for the support!! I will do my best to prevail on this issue!! John
