Yep, gas is still the best parts cleaning solvent there is for the money. Even better if you have some stale old dirty gas that isn't fit for fuel anyway. The only problem is it has this habit of catching fire quickly and spectacularly. Some people also say it causes cancer if you get it on your skin a lot year after year. I use it plenty, but only totally outdoors well away from anything burnable and anything that might ignite it. I would certainly never put it in a parts washer or use it inside the garage (not that you were suggesting that).
