The nice thing about this grease is it's heavier than gear lube. It isn't prone to leakage like gear lube & it's not likely going to leak out nearly as bad as gear lube.
I'm convinced this is what was the front knuckles were intended to be filled with to the level plug as well as your steering box & winch.
If it's the same Lubriplate Glen researched before it is known as Semi Fluid Chassis grease which is what the WDX owners manual calls for in all these applications.
I too have been using multi purpose grease & gear lube but I believe this is incorrect.
