Had a similar expirence. Just a few weeks ago, my sister's car died on the other side of the state (Grand Rapids) We needed to get it home somehow. I dont have a full size truck on the road right now, but my Mom, has a '02 Chevy S-10 4X4 with a 4.3 Vortec, towing package etc. The truck is as beefy as they get for an S-10. Well, a 1990 Grand Prix is NOT a huge car. I know lots of guys with 4.3 Powered S-10s that tow things heavier than the Pontiac all the time with no problem. Well we called in advance to all the rental places in the Grand Rapids area, and nobody would rent her a tow dolly, they said the truck was too small to tow it safely! Bah! Well, needless to say, We borrow the neighbors 98 Chevy K-1500 and I toss the 'poor mans wrecker boom' (tow bar) in the back. We get there, hook up towbar, string the lights up, and down the road we go. We stop twice, the first time to check and retighten, (it didnt come loose at all) and to eat. TOwed the car home with no problems at all. This sue-happy society is getting excessivly crazy and out of hand. My $0.03 worth and rant for the day....
Dodge content: Found a '77-78 SNow Fiter for sale locally, has puked small block. I got a few good small blocks laying around. Hmmm..He needs parts for a '88 W250 Perhaps a trade is in the works???
