15 inch rims possible w/ disc brakes?

After 3 years of fantastic service with no maintenance, my '47 WDX is begging for attention. Rather than putting money into the old systems I think I would like to go with the disc brakes. I was wondering, since the rotors on disks are possible to be smaller if one could mount 15 inch rims on the truck? Makes tires a lot easier. Also with Ray Suiter gone, has anyone done the conversion on there own?
