I have 2 2002 3500's. One with an Auto and one with the 6 speed. The auto is nice around town, but the engine control when towing with the 6 speed is fantastic. You can always be at just the right RPM no matter what the speed. That's also the down side when driving around town with no trailer because your wearing yourself out going through the gears. If I could only buy one and did much towing, I'd go with the 6 speed. If I only occaisionally towed, I'd go with the Auto.
