David: Many people have tried this over the years and usually found out the drive line angle is too much for the U joints, resulting in more vibration and noise than the factory configuration. If it were an easy fix, the factory would have designed the truck that way. The fact they didn't says something. A centered rear axle is really necessary if you want to make the upper shaft on the model 200 transfer case the rear axle output shaft.
