I was blessed. I knew 2 of my great Grandfathers, both my grandpa's one great Grandmother and alot of great great uncles. Most of my family were dirt poor Tennessee Substinence farmers and sawmill operators. My Great Grandfather that I remember the best could fix ANYTHING! He hardly ever had a penny to his name, but he could make anything work. I seen him re-cast babbit bearings for an old Buzz Saw one time. His Brother, being my great great uncle, Taught me how to drive (on a '56 IH 1 ton. He also showed me how to hitch a team of mules up, and had me cultivate his garden with them for a while. That was very very neat. He had horses and mules untill he died in 2001. He Was 92 when he went. He worked untill the day he died. It is because of the old Timers that I took the path in life that I am on, playing with old iron, and primitive living. They caught me before I could get caught up in drugs and stuff. Everytime an old Timer dies away, we ALL loose something. It is good to be close to them, and listen to them. Help them as much as you can. I would someday love to be old and show these young bucks, how things were done. God Bless our Old folks. I have a ton of stories I could share right now about how the older generation has influenced me, but I will quit rambling on here. I think you all got the point :))!
