as an oldie (64)
it appears to me that a lot of people do not want to listen - they know it all
as an example:
i was in the tire / wheel business for about 20 years (pass, truck, High performance, race) and still have all my tech manuals
when asked a question I find the answer in
one of the books or give them the benefit of my years in the business - some people are not happy with answer because it is not what they wanted to hear so they go off and do what they want even though it is not correct or safe.
question:How do i dismount/mount split rims ?
answer : Take to a professional truck shop!!!
have a professional truck tire man
do the work - there is NO other safe
way!!
response: But how do I do it myself?
end of story
the same holds true for other mechanical work
old mechanics went through an extensive apprenticeship program to learn how to do things correctly and were not allowed to work on what they had not been trained to work on.
