I think he can't shift into 5th because his rear gear is too tall for that amount of weight, he needs a 4:10 in that rig! Lugging a load with that tall geared rear will really hurt fuel economy and power output. I can hit 85 easy with my 4:10 loaded. That's not near Eric's load in the photo, but I liked that trip, no brake controller over both the Sierra's and the Grapevine. The 14", 4 wheel discs worked great!
