I will chime in and say you can weld your rear and have good results. i welded my buddies dana 60 rear full float. He is running 38" ground hawgs. drives at 60 mph on the interstate for 6 hours straight. goes wheeling for the weekend and drives home. yeah they chrip when he turns corners on pavement. The see normal wear and tear. He rotates the tires around every couple months. The fronts wear worse then the rear.

There are different ways people weld the differential up. Some people only fill in a couple teeth on the spider gears which still allow the diff to differentiate. Others weld everything up.

I did weld his front dana 60 as well, but he has since taken that out and running open.

he is running a 440 with 4-speed a 205 and 4:10 in the axles. he has the umph to ruin some parts if he wanted but has not broken anything because of the welded rear.

People have had sucess with it and are happy.

Pieter
