We got only 8-10 inches on sunny Shelter Island. There was 12-24 inches predicted, and about 40 miles to the West, they got slammed with a lot.

My Police Reserve unit got activated to help with traffic problems in Western Suffolk County, but I opted to stay closer to home, to work for the highway department, as a stand-by plow driver. The plow guys were out for 18 hours straight, which can be tiring, to say the least, so a bunch of us are on a volunteer list to take over while they rest up. No pay, but fun.

The "Storm of the Century", as the local news programs call it, comes along every year. All the hype, but no real substance. Hmmm...just like Ford...haha.

During the beginning of the storm, Mr. Power Wagon and I ventured out to get the coffee and paper, and came home. He liked it.
