I was under Bear (59 Townie) the other day and was looking at the brake lines. They are original on the truck and they are overdue for replacement. I would like to locate a drop-in modern style master cylinder and I would also like to put Stainless brake lines in, but I am not sure where to start. I have not checked Napa yet, but I am assuming that I will just take in a section of existing brake line and they will outfit me with lengths of Stainless and the proper flaring tools. Does Napa cut to length and flair as a service? Is there a better source?

On an unrelated note, I was detoured from my normal route the other day because of road construction. I found myself on a very steep grade that had a stop light at the top. I looked in the rear view and saw this "lady" had pulled her Hundai up 6 inches behind my trailer hitch ball. I was forced to do some creative clutchwork to prevent the impending accident. I was going to talk to this moron via the pa system in Bear but a few deep breathing exercises helped me to keep calm. Darwin almost got another award that day.

Looking back on it. I should have just put the emergency brake on, shut off the engine and left it in gear. This would have given me plenty of time to walk back to the car and give her a calm but firm verbal lesson on where and when to tailgate. I dont know what it is about this time of year in Los Angeles.

Best Wishes
Lonnie
