I've always used a product called "Defender," can't find a link to dealer info for it at the moment. This looks like similar stuff:

For farm/work trucks I sand, scrape and clean...then brush this stuff on, then spray on equipment enamels. I don't care for rattlecan jobs personally...if I didn't have a gun and compressor I'd look into those spray cans you fill with paint and then add compressed air to.

I honestly prefer el-cheapo paint jobs. None of my trucks will be in a museum soon...most of them are damned lucky to not be in a scrap heap already. ho-made paint jobs are fun, cheap, and who cares if you scratch them up. Camo looks better when it's faded and oxidized anyway. Only problem is with fussy folks...and the cops are getting cautioned in training about "non-conformists." I wouldn't give much thought to the first problem, second is worthy of consideration. I've been to some EMS training with police officers this year, and "non-conformist" is a catch phrase. If you are an apparent "non-conformist" expect the boys in blue to pay a little extra attention to you until this fascist crap blows over. I figure my Vol FD plate should offset any "bad" image my camo truck presents. Another problem with camo paint is there have apparently been court cases over "visibility" issues in accidents...something in MVehicles mag to that effect a few years (?) ago.

This one (I'll try posting a pic) is well-weathered and not one of my best efforts, but the hippie ladies (my wife for one) like it! Thank god all the women in the world aren't fussy or guys like me'd have a hell of a time : )
