If your 77 is anything like the 60s trucks, the frames are the same between the W100 and W200.
Heck in the 60s the D100 frames were basicly the same as a W200.
Your best bet is to go check that out, and if the frames on the shortboxes are just as strong (tall, wide etc in the right areas) as the W200s, then you just buy a D100-W100 shortbox, and swap in your running gear.
That or you can swap in the SWB frame under your body, and put your running gear below it.
MUCH easier then shorting a frame!
Plus if you use a W100 then you will get all the driveshafts, and the drivelie angles will not be a problem.
