Shortning the center of the frame is not that easy to do. Your drive shaft will be on a different angle and made shorter, brake lines will have to be replaced along with maybe your fuel line, emergency brake cable ect. The frame will have to be fish plated and may not be the same size the full length. The cross members might have to be re/done. Mounts for the bed may be in another location now. The strength of the frame may be weaken and posibley welded out of square. Wiring may have to be alterd along with the exsaust system. These are a few things you may run into doing it. Cutting the tail end off a frame is easy you only have to figure out how remount the bumper, rear cross member and bed again. You may have to deal with the fuel tank problems if it is mounted in the rear. Having done both now I would not recomend it if you do not have to do it. Mark H.
