I have tried several different methods. First I tried plastic media. It is good for removing paint bad for removing any rust. I had a sand blaster do my front bumpers and they came back quite pitted and I was not happy. I had the bodies of my trucks blasted with a mix of garnet and walnut shells. It seem to be a very good combination. The surface comes out with a very slight patina which is easily removed with 600 grit paper. For smaller parts that I do I use a small blast cabinet with a garnet media. This works very well.

All my big pieces I send out to be done. I do not want the mess and they are able to protect their lungs much better than I can.
